Commercial Vehicle
Class C - CDL Driving
Class C CDL is required when a driver needs to drive a specific type of vehicle with a specific mission in mind.
Class C CDLs are still Commercial Vehicles, but they are limited usually to a specific type: HazMat, Passenger Endorsement or School Bus Endorsement. These types of vehicles are often the same size as regular cars and trucks on the road today.
Our staff has experience with the "big rigs" on the road today. We offer Class C driver training both theory and behind the wheel.
New Drivers
We help new drivers build a strong foundation for success by repetition through a safety focused training program.
Experienced Drivers
Wisdom comes with experience, but the best operators are always learning and open to new ideas while ensuring safe operations.
Types of Training
We offer Class C Training in Minnesota. TDT can provide both the theory (classroom) and the behind-the-wheel hours to qualify for licensure and/or endorsement in Minnesota Only.
Theory (Online or In Person)
CDL Class C theory classes at this time are only available in an online format. Classroom time is a minimum of 16 hours spent in the online classroom, plus study time on your own. Everyone learns at different paces and through different styles. Our online education system allows students to test their knowledge in multiple formats and finally take a mock exam modeled after the state or federal driver's test. Our staff can tailor our training to adjust to a large group or different situations.
Behind the Wheel (Range & Road Practice)
CDL Class C behind-the-wheel time is spent in a real working Class C vehicle. Our staff works with you to ensure a smooth pre-trip inspection, mock driving scenarios, driving maneuvers, and response to safety situations to make sure you are comfortable in the driver's seat. Students can provide their own truck that passes a pre-trip inspection, is licensed in its respective state, and has insurance on the vehicle. Behind the wheel is at least 8 hours of time spent one-on-one with a training instructor. Our instructors provide real-time feedback about your driving skills, offering solutions, ideas, and areas to study and practice on.
Safety Focused Training
All of our staff focus on safety before anything else. We want to make sure drivers are able to safely operate the vehicles. We also want to make sure drivers know that in the unlikely situation that an emergency occurs, they can act swiftly, safely and ensure the welfare of their passengers and motoring public.
